The shift towards digital health – Challenges and opportunities for medtech
December 2, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
We live in an increasingly connected world. Advances in consumer technology have spread to the medical device world, but the promise of a new model of care remains elusive as various factors drive healthcare out of the hospital and into the home.
This transition to providing care beyond the traditional hospital and clinic walls requires new levels of connectivity, integration, and interoperability from medical devices but just as importantly it means a new way of working for clinicians and a new level of involvement for patients and caregivers in managing their own care.
This session will look at the changes that are taking place in healthcare delivery and the challenges and opportunities that presents for all stakeholders. We will discuss how MedTech companies are evolving their strategy to add connectivity to their devices and to add value added digital health services to their offerings. We will discuss how other participants are adopting to these changes and what Medtech can learn from them. Finally we will discuss the profound implications that these changes have on business models and on the capabilities that MedTech companies need to develop to be successful in this changing world.
