Medtech Rising is the definitive networking and learning opportunity for any start-up in the Medtech sector. The Irish Medtech Association recognises the importance of supporting innovation in Medtech and as a result we have already issued two key reference documents for entrepreneurs in this market
And we have devised an Agenda for Medtech Rising, in association with IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, that is designed to give start-ups the insights and knowledge they need to drive their businesses forward successfully. World class speakers and industry experts will share their experiences, insights and challenges with attendees and entrepreneurs will no doubt be especially interested in particular modules and here’s a flavour of what to expect;
Open Innovation – VC and Investment Panel
Find out what type of opportunities VC’s and investors are looking for in Medtech, what are the current trends, the impact of gloabalisation and consolidation in the industry and why companies invest.
Entrepreneurship and Acquisition; Case Studies from the Front
Learn about the EU & US ecosystems available to entrepreneurs and why serial entrepreneurs keep investing. Hear about one company’s journey to success in the connected health space. And find out why the average time-to-exit for Medtech start-ups is 7 to 9 years.
Risk Taking and Risk Aversion
Delivered by Casper Berry, Motivational/business speaker and poker expert. Csaper studied economics at Cambridge university and he went on to become a successful and famous professional poker player. He teaches delegates how to harness the power of their natural aversion to risk, for better long term results.
Clinical Innovation Masterclass – Working with KOL’s
Delivered by Maulik Majmudar, Clinician Innovator and Entrepreneur Cardiologist, Amazon
At present it is estimated that only 3% of health data is actionable or analysed, so there’s a huge opportunity for Ai and analytics to contribute to better healthcare decision-making. Amazon is ideally placed to offer unique insights into the emerging digital health sector. There will be other sessions directly of interest to entrepreneurs and these are being agreed at present – so watch this space. There is also of course the opportunity to enter the Irish Medtech Awards and you may be particularly interested in the Emerging Medtech Company of the Year Award. Go for it – and looking forward to meeting you in Galway!
PS Don’t forget to book your ticket now as this event is likely to be sold out.
